Most of us were not born with a silver spoon in our mouth.  We grow up through many circumstances that seem to hinder us from our dreams of who we want to become. Our dreams could be simple, such as to become a doctor, an engineer, an economist, a banker, a police officer, a detective, a teacher, etc.  In our society,  to obtain  our  simple dream to become somebody requires money which is  a necessary  resource. 

After graduating from high school, we require money to support our college education. There are a few people that are fortunate and do not have to worry about paying for their tuition and expenses to go to college.  You may not be that fortunate as those in that small group of people.  You are in the large pool of people that need money for education in pursuing your dreams to become somebody that you strive to be.  You worry about your tuition and expenses. Don't let worry standing in your way of obtaining your education.  And don't be envy of the fortunate few. We are here to support you with your dream in a small way that we can. We help you to raise fund for your education. (Even if you just want to fundraising to help others that are less fortunate or for your youth group, women group, or men group  expenses.)

Because we were like you years ago. We want to help you. We will donate the proceeds from the sale of the books to your education and your needs while you are in school. Below are the steps how to raise funds for your education and expenses.

Step

1. Think it through and Write down your cause objective(s) (e.g. education cost and how much money you need).

2. Write down your goal(s). How much do you need (e.g. for my education at this college and I need an additional $2,000 for education expenses)?

3. Write a short statement of your fundraising objective and goal.

4. Meet the leader of your organization (e.g. company, church, youth group, etc.), your youth director, manager, boss, senior manager,  women's group leader or  men's group leader and tell him/her your fundraising objective and goal to secure their support.  Remember to tell your family and friends too.

5. Announce your fundraising cause(s) and your goal objective(s) to people in your organization (e.g. for your education).

6. Show or tell people about the books The Connection and Perfect Love and tell them that they can purchase the books at the special price of $20 each and of that $20, you keep $4 to go toward your education.

7. Tell people and let them know that you will receive the profits of $4.00 out of $20.00 per book from the sale of these books for your fundraising cause.

8. Make the list of people to support your cause(s). A template of the list is here for your use. Click here for your Template List.

9. Total the number of the books in the list and fill in the order form to Oakhurst United Methodist  or Friendship Community Church.

10. Collect the money from the people buying the books supporting your fundraising cause(s).

11. Contact either Oakhurst United Methodist (OUMC) or Friendship church (FCC) and inform the total books of each title and your shipping to address.  The church let you know the shipping  cost to you.

12. You keep (retain) the total of  $4.00 multiplies by total of book bought by supporting people.  Use this money for your education.

13. You write the check payable to either OUMC or FriendshipCC of the total cost of  the books ordered minus your portion that you keep.  For example, if you sell 10 books, you keep $40. Write the check $160.00 plus the shipping cost.

14. We ship the books to you for you to distribute them to your buyers.

15. Study hard and focus on your career goal.

16. Make some effort to Show and Tell your schooling progress to your organization and tell the people how much you appreciate their support.

17. Have some healthy fun and help others like you. Tutor other students.

In this world, nothing is totally independent. Soil, water, air, trees, animals, and humans cannot live independently.  Each one needs the others.  The same for humans, we all need each other in our daily lives. The trash man, the doctor, the teacher, the barber, the cook, the fireman, you name it,  we all need each other. So, show your care, love, and compassion to others around you, whether they are old or young, children, men or women. Open your hands to give to the poor and homeless. Always remember the people that support you in your education efforts to become the one that you want and dream to be.  These people are blessing you.  Take this blessing and pay it forward by blessing others as you were blessed.
